Europe in my Farm – Visit to the village of Klinac

Within the project „Europe in my farm“ financed by the European Union through the IPA INFO 2012 programme, on 20 September 2013 CRP Sisak visited the village of Klinac near Petrinja in order to start with the project regarding the „door to door“ visits to 500 households and inform the rural population on EU standards.

In the cooperation with our partner Centre for Plum and Chestnut and the host, the project associate Centre for Rural Initiatives from Klinac, we visited 15 households in the village of Klinac. We informed them on the project activities that would include five workshops and five brochures, which would inform and educate the rural population in the Sisak-Moslavina County on standards related to the production of plum brandy, cheese and sour creamand meat products, as well as on EU agriculture and rural developments programs, strategies and funds.

The village population told us that they were in the middle of season of making of plum brandy. They said that they were aware of some regulations, but the workshop and brochure on rakija would definitely help them to follow the EU standards.

At the end of the visit, the sets of hand tools with EU logo were given to the village population, as well as promotional materials. The visit was very successful and it may mean that the workshops and other activities would be successful as well.
