The Civil Rights Project Sisak (CRP Sisak), as an authorized provider, has been establishing quality relationship and cooperation with authorized free legal aid providers for all these years: contacting authorized providers and requesting data on problems in their work, and exchanging relevant information through the active informal platform “Initiative to Improve the Functioning of the Free Legal Aid System“.
The initiative was founded in 2016 and today has 22 active members, represented, among others, by CRP Sisak.
In addition to what was indicated within the Initiative for Improving the Functioning of the Free Legal Aid System in the Republic of Croatia, information was circulated through the zabpp@googlegroups.com mailing list and some advocacy activities were launched, such as:
- regular reports and delivery of minutes from the sessions of the Free Legal Aid Commission to the members of the Initiative,
- coordination in the selection of representatives of authorized associations to the Free Legal Aid Commission during 2021,
- a series of advocacy activities aimed at combating the delay in announcing Public Tenders for financing project proposals of authorized primary legal aid providers contrary to legal regulations, delays in contracting and payments, appealing for insufficient amounts for the adequate functioning of associations in their work in providing primary legal aid, and pointing out the failure to hold sessions of the Free Legal Aid Commission in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Free Legal Aid Commission /three times a year, and more often if necessary/
- an initiative by the CRP Sisak in November 2024 to increase the maximum amount of funds for financing associations from group A / 50,000.00 EUR/
