Andrew Dalgleish, British Ambassador and Andreja Maretić Vuković, Senior Political Officer in British Embassy, visited CRP Sisak on 21 March 2017, within their visit to Sisak. British embassy wanted to discuss the situation in Sisak, work of CRP, especially in relation to post war situation, national minorities, etc.
CRP presented its work, including the work of the Norwegian refugee Council (NRC). CRP has been dealing with post war cases until today, which is mainly done through UNHCR projects. CRP emphasised that the free legal aid in Croatia was not functioning. CRP has been cooperating with, besides UNHCR, the Ombudsman on discrimination cases. It was concluded that Croatia, and especially Sisak-Moslavina County, needed some integration of returnees and settlers projects and activities. Also, it was pointed out that the housing care programmes in Croatia are implemented too slowly and not adequately for beneficiaries.
The meeting was very pleasant and we hope for future cooperation with the British Embassy.
