On 15 April 2013 CRP participated in the workshop on drafting of the Action plan for social inclusion of the Roma national minority in the Sisak – Moslavina County – identification of key issues, needs and priorities. The preparatory workshop was held in the Family centre of the Sisak – Moslavina County in Sisak.
The workshop was organized by UNDP, OCSE and the Government office for human rights and rights of national minorities. The main gold was to consult with members of the County Council of the Roma national minority and representatives of the local Roma organizations on the priorities for the development of Roma communities and their involvement in the development of the Action Plan for Roma Inclusion in the Sisak – Moslavina County.
The workshop was attended by the Roma NGOs, Roma Councils, representatives of the Town of Sisak, Sisak – Moslavina County, Center for Social Welfare and the primary school Palanjek, which is attended by a large number of Roma children.
Methods of work in the workshop included the issues related to the following areas: (1) Education, (2) Employment, (3) Health and Housing, (4) Status rights, Roma inclusion and Roma culture and tradition. All the representatives of the Roma had the opportunity to express their views on the problems, needs and priorities of the Roma minority.
This workshop will be followed by the workshop on making of the Action plan for social inclusion of Roma in the Sisak – Moslavina County, which will be held on 23th and 24th April 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, and which will also be attended by the representatives of Roma organizations, the Councils, the Town of Sisak and Sisak – Moslavina County.
