As part of the “Center for Integration of Foreigners” project, CRP Sisak and its partner Civic Initiative “My Town of Sisak” and a representative of the Norwegian Refugee Council, as well as with the presence of representatives of the City of Sisak, held on December 1, 2022. 4th joint gathering under the title “CLOTHING IS COMMUNICATION.”
The goal of the gathering is to promote intercultural dialogue, that is, to connect beneficiaries with each other and encourage them to activism, participation in activities organized in the local community, and thus further integrate them into society. At the gathering, a short presentation was held on the topic of dressing in accordance with the cultural heritage of the countries from which our users come, which helped and stimulated conversation among the participants of the gathering. The presentation and discussion among the participants were led by Daša Poredoš Lavor from the Civic Initiative “My Town of Sisak”. In her presentation and conversation with the participants, she pointed out that we present ourselves to others through our clothes and thus open the possibility for easier communication. With clothes, we “reveal” ourselves to others or “hide” ourselves from others.
The gathering also covered other topics concerning foreigners in the Republic of Croatia, and over 20 users were present.
Then Paal Nesse, representative of the partner, the Norwegian Refugee Council from Oslo, spoke about his experience in working with refugees, asylum seekers in Norway and foreigners who want to regulate their stay there and about the obstacles they encounter in achieving their goals.
The joint gathering is part of the Center for the Integration of Foreigners project supported by €135,000.00 of financial support from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway within the framework of the European Economic Area and Norwegian grants.
