On 15 March 2013, CRP Sisak signed the Charter on Cooperation between the City of Sisak and the national minorities’ councils, representatives and NGOs, as well as the NGOs that are dealing with national minority and human rights.
Besides the CRP Sisak, the Charter was signed by the councils of Serbian, Bosnian and Roma national minorities, representatives of the Check, Albanian, Hungarian and Macedonian national minorities, Bosnian National Community of the City of Sisak and Sisak-Moslavina County, Bosnian Cultural Association „Nur“ Sisak, Serbian Cultural Association „Prosvjeta“ Sisak, Serbian Cultural Information Centre, „Češka beseda“ Sisak, „Češka beseda“ Jazvenik, Roma Cultural Association „Black Pearls“, NGO „Udruga Roma Bajaša“, NGO „Roma Rights“, NGO „Roma Cultural Centre“, NGO for Development and Better Life of Roma, Association of the Hungarians of the City of Sisak and Sisak-Moslavina County and Serbian Democratic Forum.
The Charter is a result of joint attitudes in defining of common principles of cooperation between the City of Sisak and councils of national minorities, representatives of national minorities, civil society organisations of national minorities and NGOs that are dealing with national minority and human rights. It is based on principles and types of cooperation that are defined by the Constitutional Law on Rights of National Minorities and the Law on Associations.
In order to improve the present cooperation in the future, all the partiers that signed the Charter expressed their wish that the Charter would not be only a declaratory act and that it would have its real impact on everyday life of Sisak and its citizens.
