The meeting was held in Sisak-Caprag on 15 of March 2013 in the premises of the project partner \u201eNovi svijet\u201cLu\u0161\u010dani. The aim of the project is supporting and building capacity of the Roma civil sector in Sisak \u2013 Moslavina County. By direct cooperation with the Roma NGOs, CRP will analyse capacities, needs and activities of existing and active Roma NGOs to get a thorough overview of the Roma NGO sector in the Sisak Moslavina County in order to make them cooperative and visible.<\/p>\n
The meeting aimed to meet with the representatives of Roma associations as well as present them the project and project activities. The first meeting was attended by representatives of thirteen Roma NGOs: \u201eUdruga za razvoj i bolji \u017eivot Roma\u201c, \u201eUdruga Roma Baja\u0161a Kutina\u201c, \u201eUdruga Roma Palanjek\u201c, \u201eRomska udruga Romski put \u2013 Kalje alu Baja\u0161\u201c, \u201eUdruga Roma Kutina\u201c, \u201eRomski kulturni centar\u201c, \u201eRomaneska gra\u0111anska udruga\u201c Popova\u010da, \u201eRomska prava\u201c, \u201eNevo Drom\u201c, \u201eUdruga romskih branitelja\u201c, \u201eRomsko kulturno \u2013 umjetni\u010dko dru\u0161tvo Crni biseri Sisak\u201c, \u201eRomski nogometni klub \u201eRoma\u201c Sisak\u201c, \u201eRomska udruga umirovljenika\u201c.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of\u00a0 the meeting the president of the CRP Sisak Milana Kre\u0107a presented the main goal of the project. The legal assistant Anita Ko\u0161ar Ulemek and project coordinator Aleksandar Koji\u0107 presented the planned implementation of activities<\/strong> during<\/strong> <\/strong>the<\/strong> <\/strong>project.<\/strong><\/p>\n The participants were interested in the activities, especially in the free legal aid to the Roma national minority. They presented a big problem of the Roma status issues in the RoC, citizenship, temporary and permanent residence, as well as the problem of employment of the Roma national minority that have obviously \u00a0been discriminated.<\/p>\n It was said that because of the Roma illiteracy they could not achieve their rights. So in order to improve the Roma education and at the same time to prevent discrimination by the \u00a0local bodies, the president of the NGO \u201cUdruga za razvoj i bolji \u017eivot Roma\u201d, Ranko Nikoli\u0107, was elected to be a contact person to deal with status issues of Roma minority. The president of NGO \u201cNevo Drom\u201d was elected to deal with the problem of employment of the Roma minority. They will cooperate with CRP Sisak in solving of these problems.<\/p>\n All participants were also very interested in participation in project activities, such as administrative course and E-course workshops, project management cycle, workshops on human rights and the study visit to the Municipality of Orehovica. The brochure that was made, within this project, on basic and simple information on the rights to access to institutions, was distributed to the Roma representatives.<\/p>\n The participants were very active and supportive to the project. CRP will continue to implement the project activities in order to help the Roma NGOs to become more active and visible, so they could more effectively influence politics that refer to the Roma minority rights in the Sisak \u2013 Moslavina County.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n <\/p>\n\n
