On the 30th of March 2016 in the Sisak City Hall, CRP Sisak organized an educational training for the representatives of Roma national minority. The theme of the training was writing and implementation of the project proposals and it was called “Project – possibility or trend?” The workshop was organized as a part of the activities of the project “The Importance of being Roma” that is financed by the European Union and co-financed by the Office for Cooperation with NGO of the Croatian Government.
Considering the current trend of project financing of NGOs, and especially considering the lack of capacity of Roma NGOs, CRP thinks that these kind of educational workshops are necessary. Increasing of the rigorous criteria for deciding on project proposals and complicated additional documentation that is necessary to deliver with project proposal, are often reason for elimination of project proposals written by Roma NGOs. The mistakes in collecting of documentation and other administrative mistakes often disable the implementation of projects with great concept.
With a systematical presentation of process of writing a project proposal, from finding and analyses of a problem, through an idea, to the project proposal that reflect problems of Roma community in Sisak-Moslavina County, an example of the project proposal was given. Special attention was given to analyses of problems that Roma are facing and how to include those problems into project proposals in order to solve them.
All representatives made the conclusion that this educational workshop was very useful and that more detailed analyses of the theme would be further discussed through “Working by doing” activities of the Project.
