On 10 June 2014 the Civil Rights Project organized an educational workshop on cheese and cream, within the project „Europe in my farm“, financed by the EU through IPA INFO 2012 programme, and co-financed by the Croatian Government, Office for co-operation with NGOs and Croatian Ministry of Agriculture. The workshop was organized as an additional activity in order to educate students from the High school in Petrinja, future veterinarians who would probably work as professionals in the rural area of Banovina. This is in accordance with the main goal of the project, to educate and inform local population in rural part of the Sisak-Moslavina County about laws and regulations that directly influence production of milk and dairy products. Examples from good practice in other European countries, in relation with the topic, were presented to the participants.
After the welcome and introduction, Rodoljub Džakula, owner of the family farm “Džakula” from Sjeverovac near Sunja, continued with the main part – education and presentation „From milk to cheese”. The presentation showed an overview of the current legal provisions and good examples from practice.
The workshop finished with short presentation of the work of CRP Sisak. Pupils were proposed to contribute, as future veterinaries, to development of this area. They were suggested also to actively participate in the work of civil society organisations in the area. At the end of event, CRP Sisak handed over some EU informative material and brochures that were printed within this project to the school library.
