Cooperation with the Ombudsman

The first training for a regional anti-discrimination contact points was held in Zagreb on 3rd and 4th of May 2012. The persons to be involved in the implementation of the project from five associations were present. The Civil Rights Project representatives were Dunja Čurčija and Anita Košar Ulemak.
The first day of training was related to raising awareness about discrimination. Silvija Trgovec Greif, Advisor of the Office of the Ombudsman presented the Croatian legal framework related to discrimination.
The training was led by Katrin Wladasch, a lawyer, specialized in anti-discrimination, from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights. Participants have, through practical workshops, elaborated the relationship between personal identity and the discrimination.
The second day of training consisted of two practical workshops. Both were in connection with the diversity and discrimination as well as diversity in the business. Tena Šimonović Einwalter, Advisor of the Ombudsman and the co-ordinator for the anti-discrimination in the Ombudsman’s Office tried to make an arrangement with the participants on co-operation on fighting against the discrimination.
Further on, Lana Velimirović Vukalović from the Government Office for Human Rights and National Minorities presented the work of their office.
The next training is scheduled for 31st of May and 1st of June 2012.
